Dave Mingey is an award-winning global marketer and trusted advisor to C-suite executives navigating complex, high-stakes decisions across the global sports landscape. An expert in revenue generation, brand strategy, and integrated marketing, he has led highly impactful global campaigns for many of the world’s most recognized brands and innovative agencies. Dave is frequently quoted by international media as an authority on the sports business and regularly speaks at leading industry forums, including the World Congress of Sport, South by Southwest, and the Leaders Sports Business Summit. Over the course of his career, he has been professionally involved in most major global sporting events, including multiple Olympic and Paralympic Games, FIFA World Cups, Super Bowls, and world championship events.
Dave currently serves as President of Onboard Sports Advisory, a newly launched consultancy within On Board Experiential (OBE), a full-service global marketing agency operating across six continents. In this role, he advises brands, properties, and stakeholders on how to structure, value, and govern sports marketing investments amid growing financial scrutiny, media fragmentation, and heightened executive-level accountability.
Previously, Dave spent nearly seven years as a Senior Vice President within the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Movement, overseeing all commercial partnerships for Team USA and the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He played a central role in managing the revenue streams critical to the movement’s long-term vitality and was instrumental in building and delivering the most ambitious and highest-grossing commercial program in the history of sport. As a member of the LA28 executive team, Dave led a large, multidisciplinary staff of strategic marketers and product creators while managing senior-level relationships with the organization’s global and domestic partners—many of the world’s most valuable and influential brands.
Before joining the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, Dave was Managing Director of the North America consulting practice at CSM Sports & Entertainment, a London-based global agency later acquired by Wasserman. His client portfolio included Bridgestone, Citi, Dow, Johnson & Johnson, AB InBev, McDonald’s, The North Face, and PepsiCo. Dave joined CSM following its acquisition of GlideSlope, the consulting firm he founded in 2010. Under his leadership, GlideSlope quickly grew into an internationally recognized boutique advisory firm generating multimillion-dollar annual revenues.
Dave began his career in the public relations department at Sports Illustrated before joining Nike, where he became a key contributor to the company’s global marketing organization from 1997 to 2004. His roles included Director of U.S. Media Relations and Special Marketing Projects Director. In 2004, at the request of The White House, Dave took a leave of absence from Nike to relocate to Baghdad, where he worked on rebuilding national sports programs in war-torn Iraq and helped restart the country’s National Olympic Committee.
Following Nike, Dave was named the first Director of Sports Marketing at the then-newly launched SiriusXM. From 2006 to 2009, he served as Global Director of Olympic Marketing for Johnson & Johnson, leading the company’s worldwide Olympic sponsorship and driving revenue growth across more than 50 international markets. Prior to founding GlideSlope, Dave was Vice President of Marketing at Pepsi-Cola North America, where he oversaw the company’s energy drink portfolio.
Dave has received numerous professional honors throughout his career, including the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Award for his work as a civilian volunteer in Iraq, Sports Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award, Time Inc.’s President’s Award, and Nike’s Team of the Year Award—the highest internal employee honor at both organizations at the time.
A graduate of Boston College, where he was a Dean’s List student and co-captain of the men’s rowing team, Dave also studied at the University of London and New York University. He lives in the New York City area with his wife and their three children.
